Soroptimist International of Makati
Chartered: April 11, 1984
In 1984, there were 45 Soroptimist clubs in the Philippines Region yet there was none in Makati, the country’s premier financial district site of big business and industry. On April 11, 1984 SI Makati was formally launched with Villa Granada de Guia as SI Makati Charter President. She was installed by no less than Ms Mariquita Castelo, SIPR founder.

SI Makati stalwarts held various important positions in SIA and SIPR. Teresita Bermudes Choa became the first Filipino President of Soroptimist International of the Americas. Carmen Flor and Ma. Rosario Cherry Tumaneng borth former President of SI Makati became SIPR governors.

SI Makati became the most outstanding Club for 5 consecutive years and it was in 1996 that Si Makati was elevated to the SIPR Hall of Fame;
​
Imbued with the pioneering spirit and values of our predecessors who delivered noteworthy projects to their barangays and constituents , our biennium under the leadership of Pres Bessie Escalona continue to support the biennium thrust of our present Governor Gigie Peñalosa - Access To Education for girls and women who desire to finish a degree course or a vocational course to improve their lives.
