The Soroptimist International of Pines City was conceived by women with impeccable personality and resources, sensitive to the needs and welfare of women and girls in the home, the community, in business and the country. The Club was chartered by SI Philippines Region Governor Esperanza Alconcel, SI Northern Luzon District Director Nida Vergara and Onesima Bugnosen of SI Baguio on March 22, 1997 at Prime Hotel, Baguio City, with educator and civic leader Dr. Amelia Mapagu as its Charter President. Other Charter members were Feliza Bandonil, Isabelina Ronquillo,
