Soroptimist International of Batangas Premier
Chartered: November 13, 2013
Soroptimist International Batangas Premier (SIBP), was chartered in November 13, 2013 and was the first Soroptimist club in the province of Batangas.
The sponsoring clubs were SI Founder Manila and SI Makati during the term
of then SIPR Governor Minda Garcia. There were twenty four (24) charter members, with Ms. Felie Go as the first club president. They implemented various projects, among which the following were given recognition: the Bagong Pag-Asa Eco-Bag Project which was a Livelihood Project of Women Inmates in the Batangas City Jail and the Rain Water Catchment Facility in Parang Cueva Elementary School, Isla Verde, Batangas City, missioned to deliver rain water to different parts of the school. In the year 2017, SIBP's
Live Your Dream club scholar won on the Regional level, and was eventually awarded as the Federation winner.
President
Biennium 2020-2022
In five years, under the leadership of President Felie and her officers, the club was awarded Most Outstanding Club for three consecutive years (2016-2018) thus elevating SIBP to the Hall of Famer Clubs.
In 2019, under the leadership of second president, Ms. Teresa Co, SIBP was awarded as the Most Oustanding Club in
the Hall of Famer Clubs category and in 2020, it garnered first place in the Hall of Famer Clubs with the "pursuit of excellence" being awarded to Ms. Teresa Co as president and Ms. Felie Go as District Director. SIBP was able to charter and co-charter different clubs in Batangas and surrounding provinces. Thus, a new district was formed called Mariverde, which SIBP is now a part of.
In 2020, President Joy Merhan led the group with her new set of officers. She was able to prove that the Covid-19 Pandemic situation did not hinder her from accomplishing her vision “We SERVE as ONE!” After nine years of existence, SIBP currently has fifty-seven (57) members, which membership is still growing as of this day. With the current club President Mrs. Loida Mayo and club officers, SI Batangas Premier continues to COMMIT to CONNECT in promoting the Soroptimist mission of improving the lives women and girls.
