Dear Fellow Soroptimists of SIA Philippines Region (SIAPR), Board Directed Northern Philippines Region (BDNPR), Soroptimist International of the Americas(SIA) and Soroptimist International (SI),

It is with deep sorrow that I inform you of the sudden passing of our Past Governor Maria Rosario "Cherry" Tumaneng last Saturday, September 26, 2020 of natural cause.

PG Cherry as we fondly called her was this Biennium's (2020-2022) Chair of SIAPR’s Fundraising Pillar, Member of Region's Fund Development Council and Council of Advisers, appointed by SIA as Country Manager of the Big Goal Campaign 2021-2031 overseeing SIAPR and BDNPR and also appointed by SIA as Adviser to BDNPR in the SIA Task Force overseeing the development of BDNPR. PG Cherry's passing is almost incomprehensible for all of us in Soroptimist. Indeed, she is a great loss to the entire Soroptimist organization. PG Cherry is the embodiment of a true Soroptimist...a woman blest and is a blessing to others. She has committed almost half of her lifetime in pursuing the Soroptimist Mission with such passion, one cannot be with her and not be convinced to do the same. PG Cherry's infectious laughter we will always remember, her energy and enthusiasm to attend as many Club events as she physically could and her ability to engage every Soroptimist and every beneficiary in her most natural friendly ways  is legendary. Her loss is definitely a big void for anyone of us to fill.

Sincerely,

Gabrielle "Billie" V. Calizo-Quimpo

SIAPR Governor

Biennium 2020-2022

You will be missed our beloved

Soroptimist sister,   friend, leader
