ABOUT US
Soroptimist International of Kalibo It was June 25, 1983 when Soroptimist International of Roxas came to Kalibo for the chartering of the Soroptimist International of Kalibo. No less than the Soroptimist International of Philippines Region (SIPR) founder, Mariquita S. Castelo and SIPR Charter Governor, Ms. Milagros Araneta-Villasor, graced the occasion where twenty-two (22) professional and business women in Kalibo were inducted as charter members. Manolita Q. Acevedo served as the Charter President.
In September 11, 2009, the club was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a Foundation, under then-SI Kalibo President now SIAPR Governor Gabrielle Calizo-Quimpo. At present, SI Kalibo has many projects for the Biennium 2020-2022, with President Ester E. Sauza leading at the helm.

Adopt-a-PNP WCPD
The Soroptimist International of Kalibo renders service to women and children through different projects. We have for Biennium 2020-2022, SIK have chosen three (3) PNP stations
-
Numancia Municipal Police Station, Numancia, Aklan;
-
New Washington Municipal Police Station, New Washington, Aklan; and
-
Kalibo Municipal Police Station, Kalibo, Aklan.
The three (3) stations were selected out of the seventeen (17) Municipal Police Stations in the province because of the high incidence of crime against women and children in the said areas.
The Memorandum of Agreement signing for the three stations were conducted on September 30, 2020.
The club also offers free legal services to women and children in conflict with the law. There were rape cases that were referred to the lawyer members of SIK.
Adopt A Barangay
Project: Backyard Gardening
The project aims to provide household food security and generate income from sales of vegetables
This project helped 5 women and their families in October 31, 2020, SI Kalibo provided garden tools and seeds lead by club President Ester Sauza and Adopt-a-Barangay Committee Chair Rea Mae Fagtanac. A monitoring activity was done in January 8, 2021.
Project: Financial Assistance for Education
SI Kalibo awarded educational assistance to 11 women students from the adopted barangay in partnership with the Aklan Provincial Government in December 16, 2020.
