About Us

this page is under construction

Chartered:  July 2, 1983

It was sometime in 1982, when some officers and members of the Soroptimist International of Calauag, Quezon visited their lady friends in Gumaca, Quezon. They introduced the vision and mission of the Soroptimist International and described how they help other women and children to have better and more productive lives through their programs. An orientation was held on May 21, 1983 at Bulwagang Salakot, Brgy. Rosario, Gumaca, Quezon. Mrs. Magdalena Nicolas and some members of SI-Calauag were the prime movers behind the chartering.

On July 2, 1983 a historical event took place, which spelled the difference in the lives of 23 young professionals and businesswomen as they were installed into office. The installation was conducted by Mrs. Mariquita S. Castelo who happens to be the founder and founding president of Soroptimist International of the Philippines Region, Inc. (SIPR). Renowned persons from the national club like Milagros Araneta Villasor, who was then the guest speaker, Magdalena Nicolas, and Asuncion Flores graced this memorable occasion.

Mrs. Estelita V. Rodelas, a school administrator and a respected lady in the community was elected as the charter President of the Soroptimist International of Gumaca (SIG).
