Chartered: February 1980
In February 1980, Soroptimist International of Guagua thru Dr. Letty Yap and Dra. Grace O. Pangilinan proposed to Miss Luz Un Ocampo, a well-loved and respected businesswoman of Guagua, the idea of organizing Soroptimist International of Guagua.
Knowing that at a time there was no active women organization in Guagua, Luz accepted the proposal. Qualified to become members are : those who do not belong to classified service clubs, at least 21 years old, of good moral character, a resident of Guagua, engaged in a profession either independently or in an executive or professional capacity either in private corporations or government agencies (f) she devotes 60% of her occupational time to productive work in the classification in which she becomes eligible. Luz was able to convince 21 qualified ladies to join the organization.
