Soroptimist International of Angeles

Sometime in July 1981, several business and professional women in Angeles received invitations sent by the late Mrs. Evansuida G. Ocampo to attend two or three meetings at her home in Villa Teresa Subdivision. Little did they know that those meetings were the humble beginnings of Soroptimist in Angeles City. It was on October 17, 1981 when the local SI Angeles City club was officially formed. With the lovely SI Pampanga officers and members as our sponsors, there were 25 women who accepted the challenge of joining Soroptimist. Letty C. Yap, who was District Director at that time, conducted several Soroptimist Educational sessions at the Tai Peng Restaurant, Nepo Mart. We learned about the nature of the organization, its objective, its credo, symphony, pledge and our obligations, both moral and financial.  (Read more)
